Swedish Julbord at Dicksonska Palatset

During the winter season, the grand banquet floor of Dicksonska Palatset is transformed into a festive Christmas setting, where the historic rooms are filled with the aromas, flavours and atmosphere of a traditional Swedish Christmas. Under the direction of Gustav Trägårdh, a classic Christmas buffet is presented, featuring essential dishes such as pickled herring, meatballs, Janssons frestelse and Christmas ham, served from lunch through late evening.

The Christmas buffet has been a tribute to Swedish holiday cuisine, where time honoured traditions have met Gustav Trägårdh’s own culinary expression. The result was a buffet that honoured the familiar while also offering unexpected elements, and one that, according to feedback from previous guests, was highly appreciated.

The experience is set within the magnificent surroundings of Dicksonska Palatset, where history and atmosphere become a natural part of the meal. A place where Christmas celebrations are given room to unfold, both in flavour and in setting.

Gustav Trägårdh

Gustav Trägårdh is an award winning Swedish chef and restaurateur, known for his creativity and passion for food. He won the prestigious Årets Kock award in 2010 and previously served as head chef at Basement Restaurant & Bar in Gothenburg, which was awarded a Michelin star in 2004. For a period, he also ran the classic restaurant Sjömagasinet together with Ulf Wagner. He became widely known to the general public after winning the television competition Kockarnas kamp on TV4 in 2014.

Since 2022, Gustav has been behind the restaurant Gurras on Postgatan 16 in Gothenburg, in collaboration with Stureplansgruppen. Gurras serves dishes inspired by street food from around the world, refined to an à la carte level, and has received praise for its creativity and well composed menu.

When can the Julbord be booked?
